About

Have you felt you’re in a rut, with no one you can talk to in confidence, and without feeling judged? You may have lost your sense of direction and who you are.

Hi, I’m Ayesha and I'm here to help.  As a qualified counsellor based in Sevenoaks, Kent, I provide a safe and confidential space for us to come together, face to face or online, to start exploring and better understand your thoughts and feelings. This is all with an aim to resolve or come to terms with your experiences, past and present, and understand what you may feel is holding you back from a more fulfilling life.
An opportunity to transform yourself.

Some people come to counselling knowing what is troubling them, others may just be aware that they need a bit of help. Whatever your requirement is, I am able to give you the space to share and explore in a nurturing and supportive environment.  Taking the first step can often feel daunting so let me join you in your journey of self-discovery.  To find out whether you’d like to work with me, explore this page and get in touch for a free introductory consultation.

Who am I?

I am a fully qualified therapist and counsellor, with Registered MBACP status, the standard recommended by BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).   I take a humanistic and integrative approach, with a focus on person-centred counselling.  This approach enables us to focus on delving deeper, and uncovering issues that may not have previously been in your conscious mind, whilst all centred around you.

My aim is to support you in understanding yourself better, explore your emotions and behaviour, and enable you to fully embrace yourself in the present moment.

In addition to my qualification, I have undertaken additional training in trauma and loss.  Alongside my private practice, I also work for West Kent Mind with adults, and have experience of working with the following: stress, anxiety, depression, OCD, eating disorders, loss and bereavement, low self esteem and relationship issues.

What to expect

Initial Consultation

A free initial 20 minute online or telephone consultation gives you an opportunity to see whether you feel we can work together, and ask any questions you may have.  It's also an opportunity for me to understand what has brought you to counselling and of your expectations of the work.

If you decide you’d like to proceed, we agree on a regular appointment to meet, and I can then send you relevant information which outlines how we work together.

Therapy Sessions - how they work

I offer both face to face therapy in counselling rooms in Sevenoaks, and also online.  Our first session will involve a brief assessment, and running through the working agreement form, so you know what's involved.  We can then look what has brought you to counselling, inviting you to start sharing your story.

Therapy can be short or long-term depending on your needs. This is something that can be discussed initially, and I recommend that we undertake a regular review every 6 weeks to assess how you feel things are going.
